Earlier this year I was asked a question that all of us will face at some point in our lifetime.
This question affects our wellness directly, in how we take care of ourselves, how we see ourselves, and how we show up in the world. It also has a direct impact on our mental health. Are we really welcoming our true selves, or is it a disconnect, a form of trauma as a result of society's pressure to be "forever young" or "youth obsessed".
If you want to know my response, you can check it out HERE.
The main reason for this post is to talk more about aging and the positive energy behind it, to carve out a space that honors it and dismantles the conditioning we were taught. Aging isn't something we should dread and try to put off at all costs. I took a page from PEOPLE Magazine's video, On Turning 50: Eva Mendes, Tyra Banks, Hannah Waddingham & Neve Campbell, and decided to get personal and share what I love about getting older (I recently turned 43 and I"m starting to notice changes in my body), and what I"m looking forward to as I age.
So what do you love about aging? What are you looking forward to? Are you struggling to love yourself in your new chapter of life? Share below.
With love and wellness,
